Fixed benefit health plans can be great for those who make a little too much money to qualify for financial assistance in the Health Insurance Marketplace but not enough to be able to afford the unsubsidized health plan premium. Good for self-employed individuals and those looking for basic health benefits with no deductible. We recommend adding the Accident ProGuard supplement to this plan to help offset out of pocket expenses for accidents and critical illness. This plan is renewable and is not limited duration coverage.                                                                                                                                                               Caution: The Choice Value and Choice Plus plans are too limited and not recommended. The Primary Preferred, Select Preferred and Premier Plus plans are better options.

Plans in this section are limited benefit and may be limited duration health plans that do not meet the coverage requirements of the (ACA) healthcare law. These plans do not cover pre-existing conditions, do not cover maternity, preventive care and may limit coverage on prescription drugs and other medical expenses.  

Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Plans

Great for those in new-hire waiting period, young adults going-off their parent's health plan, or any need for inexpensive coverage for up to 1 year. We recommend adding the Accident ProGap supplement to offset the deductible on this plan. 

SHORT TERM MEDICAL, ACCIDENT & SICKNESS FIXED BENEFIT AND SUPPLEMENTAL ACCIDENT AND CRITICAL ILLNESS PLANS PROVIDE LIMITED BENEFITS AND ARE NOT QUALIFYING HEALTH COVERAGE (“MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE”) THAT SATISFIES THE HEALTH COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS OF THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT. IF YOU DON’T HAVE MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE YOU MAY OWE AN ADDITIONAL PAYMENT WITH YOUR TAXES.

Individuals may receive income-based federal tax credits to lower the cost of insurance in the Health Insurance Marketplace. These plans meet all the coverage requirements of the healthcare law. No medical questions and pre-existing conditions are covered. 

Great for ages 62-65, contract workers, COBRA alternative, waiting to get married with health benefits, and gig workers. We recommend adding the Accident ProGap supplement to help offset the deductible on this plan.
